Beats Licensing Explained: What’s the Difference Between Lease and Exclusive?

If you’re just starting out, it’s normal to get confused with legal terms. Here I explain in a simple way what you are buying:

Lease License: It is like renting the beat. Swag-Beatz still owns it, and other artists can use it as well. It is ideal for low-budget projects, mockups or YouTube. It has reproduction limits.

Premium License (WAV/Stems): Gives you higher audio quality and, generally, more freedom of playback on platforms like Spotify.

Exclusive License: The beat is removed from the store. You become the sole owner of the exploitation rights. It is the recommended option if you are going to seriously invest in marketing and video clips.
